Jamaica Vacation at Sandals!
In the spring we decided to take a last minute trip just the hubby and I. It was cold here and we were looking for something warm. We toyed with a few places. We were looking for something affordable and close. We were celebrating early our 10 year wedding anniversary. It falls in the fall When school and our schedules really didn’t allow us to travel.
Some Big “mom” factors weighted heavily on me though. I had never left my little guy so the time it would take to get back home in case of an emergency, had to be somewhat reasonable just in case. I also didn’t want to be far from an airport. Some resorts we looked into were 2+ hours from an airport. Sandals Royal Caribbean seemed to fit exactly what we were looking for.
The flight there is really cool, you land right over the water! Check out my video
This was our first experience with an all inclusive, but since we were celebrating our anniversary, we decided to splurge and spend a little more money and go for the butler level room. It was worth every single penny and then some!
We booked the Romeo & Juliet Walkup Suite featured Here
The photos do not even do it justice. We loved being able to walk right outside onto the patio, and the soaking tub outside was amazing. We used it every single night. It fit 2 adults comfortably, and there are big curtains you close for privacy. I think our favorite part though, was having room service out there every morning. We could even see the water and the beach, but were secluded enough for privacy.
Inside there was 1 king bed which each night they decorated. A walk in shower and another soaking tub. They filled our tub nightly for us before we would get back to the room. We also had an array of liquor, beer and wine and they shipped in Tito’s vodka since I have a gluten allergy and try to stick to that. We also had a mini fridge with juices and water. There was a basket with snacks and they sent over cheese platters each evening with fruit.
The resort is not nearly as large as their other properties, and that was a huge plus for us. Being there for only 4 days, we were able to acclimate ourselves quickly and find our favorite spots.
There is a private island at this resort which is a super quick boat ride across the water. Over on the island, there is a spa, a pool, 2 food establishments including the Thai restaurant (which we didn’t get to try, but heard amazing things about) a swim up bar and a nice stretch of beach on each side. We loved spending our days over there, and our butler would reserve our favorite chairs each day and arrive with a cooler containing all of our favorite drinks. We were very spoiled!
The Private Over the water Bungalows, what a dream!
Every bit of our stay was amazing. Sandals is the Disney for adults. They know how to do everything right, between food, entertainment, the butlers services, the rooms right down to the amazingly friendly staff. They cover it all and everything is endless. We dream of the day we can go back, or even visit one of their other properties. We would also love to explore their family friendly resort, Beaches in Turks and Caicos one day!
If you are looking for a great all inclusive, We would highly recommend Sandals. They were everything we dreamed of and more!
And Bonus points if you have a food allergy, I have a gluten allergy and they were amazing with it, so many choices and even bringing in special items just for me!
UPDATE trip #2:
We returned for our 2nd trip April 2019 and had another AMAZING trip! We seriously could not have asked for anything more out of a vacation! It’s relaxing, clean and fun! This time we opted for the same room but on a higher floor. You can find the room Here.
We Opted for the butler category again and requested the same butlers Kamir and Damion (amazing and the very best) that we had the last time and they make the trip perfect! I forgot my hat in the room one day and we were over on the island, they happily brought it there. I’m also Gluten free and on the island they don’t have GF food so they bring me anything I want from the mainland area. They even got us in to Butch’s restaurant over at Montego bay. This was the first time we ventured off our resort and visited their other sandals resorts and we had a great time! So happy we did!
Over at the island, check out the giant bird that talks and be sure to ask for Stacy! Best Bar tender ever! She would see us walking off the boat and run to us with our drinks we always request!
This is by far the best vacations we have ever taken and can not wait to go back! If you’ve ever considered going GO!!! You will be shocked at all that they provide, how clean it is, the endless drinks and amazing food is worth every penny and more!! I’ll leave you with a few more photos!
