I’ve been a fan of olaplex products for well over 2 years now and I swear I’ve never seen my hair in better shape! Any hairdresser I’ve been to agrees, and they either tell their clients to use it or they carry it and use it in their salon. I’m going to list out all the products I use, how and what it’s good for. These rarely go on sale but be sure you are following me Here and get on my email list Here So you know when it does go on sale! Yes these are on the pricy side but I find a little goes a LONG way!
Olapex No 0 Intensive Bond Building hair treatment
No 0 is actually intended to be used along with No 3. I start with dry hair that needs to be washed. I apply it all over my hair and let it soak in, it should be soaking in and not dripping, and I let it sit for 10-15 minutes. For my really long thick hair I usually get 2-3 uses out of 1 bottle. I do this every other week sometimes just 1x a month. It all depends on how my hair is looking. No 0 repairs, strengthens and protects hair. Then I grab No 3.
Olaplex No 3 Hair perfector
I usually only use this after my hair has been soaking with No 0 but you can use it up to 3x a week if needed. It really repairs your damaged hair so well that the first month I used it several times and then was able to back off and just use it whenever I do No 0. For this it has to be over damp hair if you aren’t using No 0 first make sure to wet your hair. Really saturate your hair with this and let it sit for a minimum of 10 mins. More damaged hair should and can be left in longer. I’ve even used a shower cap over it and left it in for a few hours while doing stuff around the house. Rinse out then follow up with shampoo after. Its official claim: strengthens the hair from within, reducing breakage and improving its look and feel. I can agree with that!
Olaplex N0 4 Bond maintenance shampoo
Since I’m blonde I now use their new purple shampoo one to two times a month. Olpalex’s purple shampoo is by far the strongest I’ve ever used and that’s saying a lot because I have easily tried at least 30 brands! I use the regular shampoo first which is color safe. A little goes a long way. I put a pea size in my hand, massage and lather in into an area, add a little water, massage and really later it then move to next area. A little goes a long way with this stuff and adding a little water to it helps really spread it out since it’s very thick. After I do my whole head I rinse out and depending on what my hair looks like at this point I decide if I’ll use the purple shampoo or not. I usually only need it 1-3x a month. I try not to wash my hair often. I can usually push it 3-5 or up to 7 days. When I have fresh highlights I can usually go a good 7 days those first 2 or 3 weeks. If I need to tone down the bronze in my hair I’ll take a pea size and apply to an area. I feel like this is much thinner and doesn’t clean as well as the regular formula hence why I do both. That could be just me. I also use SO little because it is insanely strong that I can’t leave it in long enough to actually “clean” if that makes sense. As soon as I lather it in I rinse it off immediately. If I leave it on for anything longer my hair will turn purple. I’m pretty platinum blonde so anything darker and you may be ok to leave on longer, but just test a spot out first. Next I move on to conditioner.
Olaplex N0 5 Bond maintenance Conditioner
Safe for color treated hair, I use this as a normal conditioner after shampooing. I use a generous amount massaging in from root to end and let sit in my hair for the rest of my shower while I shave and wash my body. I rinse out just before I leave the shower so it has the maximum amount of time to sit in my hair.
Olaplex No 6 bond Smoother
This is a relatively new product to me. A friend got it and didn’t like it so she passed it on to me. I haven’t be religious in using it but the few times I have remembered to add it in I liked it. A little goes a VERY LONG way. This is a leave in conditioner so after you towel dry your hair use a tiny tiny drop and apply to hair. I found I didn’t like it at all near my roots and it made my hair feel dirty so when I use it I only use it from about midway down to the ends. After I apply it I brush my hair and blowout like usual. I think I’ll use this one more in the summer when my hair takes a beating from pool water, the sun and salt water. I think this may be a little heavy if you have super thin hair.
olaplex No 7 Bonding Oil
I use this every single day. I use it on the damp ends of my hair before I blow it out, then again after I flat iron or curl. I use it after I use dry shampoo and brush daily. It is seriously the best but again a tiny bit goes a long way. I’ve had this bottle for almost a year and I’m only a quarter of the way through it. I have only ever used it on the bottoms of my hair and fly aways.
Klorane Dry Shampoo
I always get so many questions about how I go so many days without washing my hair and the trick is dry shampoo. This one is tricky though, I’ve tried a lot of the best sellers like living proof, dry bar, amika, even some of the cheaper drug store brands and They just didn’t work for me. So I’m going to say this is a trial an error process to find the one that works best for you and your hair type. Prior to “training” my hair for dry shampoo (yes it’s a process) I had to wash my hair daily. I had greasy roots and there was no way it was making a 2nd day, EVER. Not even after a fresh blowout from the salon or fresh highlights. Then a hair dresser told me I needed to “train my hair” I literally had to go that first day without washing. Do it again. After a few times of going 2 days now go 3 days and so on. 3-5 days is my max unless it’s fresh highlights then I can get a good 7 days. Obv if I do yardwork, swimming, hardcore working out etc that changes everything but I have been known to schedule these things around hair washing days 🤣! I literally booked our snorkel day on vaca this month around the day I’ll be washing my hair! Needless to say it was a process and in that time I had to try out and find the best dry shampoo. I usually spray a bit on at night before bed and massage into my roots then brush. I usually do it again in the morning and sometimes I hit it with a blowdryer and round brush to add back in volume. It really all depends on how clean it stays. Out off all the dry shampoos I’ve tried Klorane is my fave. I get in Here, scroll right under my video, all the products are there when you scroll right and find it to be the best price with subscribe and save. I get 1 bottle a month auto shipped and that’s about lasts me just the month.
